Three Generations of Winemaking
The story of Mylonas Winery spans more than a century and is deeply rooted in the vineyards of Keratea, Eastern Attica. It began in 1917 with Antonis Mylonas, whose life was devoted to viticulture and traditional winemaking. In an era without modern equipment, grape must was fermented in clay amphorae, preserving the authenticity and purity of winemaking practices.
The second generation was led by Dimitris Mylonas, who expanded the family’s vineyard holdings and established a small modern winery, laying the foundations for the estate as it exists today. His three sons, Antonis, Tasos, and Stamatis, were raised among the vines, learning the discipline and responsibility of vineyard life from an early age.
Each brother pursued studies supporting the winery’s future: Antonis and Stamatis in chemistry and oenology, and Tasos in economics and business management.
The modern era began in 2000, when the brothers assumed full responsibility for the winery following their father’s passing. In 2006, Mylonas Winery released its first bottled wine, Savatiano Mylonas Winery, marking its formal entry into the Greek wine market.
